Abstract

Hormonal contraception

In the area of the hormonal contraception there have been during the last years numerous new developments.

The dose of Ethinylestradiol (EE) was continuously reducted to minimize the number of venous Thromboembolisms. Since Estradiolvalerat (E2V) is »natural« estrogen it became part of new combination preparation (E2V/DNG). New Gestagene were developed and Gestagen only preparations were introducted to the market.Of high importance here are the antimineralokortikoide and antiandrogene effect of many Gestagene for the extra value (positive for skin and hair,by Mastodynien, edemas among other things)

The period between the pill was reduced to 4 and 2 days with several preparation. The treatment with the extendet cycle is in common practice.Complaints dependent on cycle are thereby often avoided (PMS/PMDD, menstrual migraine among other things). We will look closer at the non-oral combination preparations, the vaginal ring and the prevention plaster.
