Abstract

Recurrent late miscarriage and extreme preterm delivery: causes and possible prevention

Considering the different causes of impending recurrent late miscarriage and extrem premature labor, so we already have a number of predictors and prevention options. The rate of premature delivery from the current 9 % of all live birth in Germany, has not in the recent years reduced to the extent, that it would suggest the development of medical treatment options. One of the reasons for this is, that more pregnancies end with a live birth by improving the medical facilities in both, obstetrics and neonatal intensiv care, than they were possible several years ago. In addition to this fact late miscarriage and extrem preterm labor are associated with high mortality and morbiditiy. It remains our responsibility to recognize the causes, to improve the treatment options and to identify the high risk collectives.
