Hormonal contraception – long-term use and long-cycle

The use of extended pills intake regimens or even longterm use has many advantages: The reduction of the intensity of bleeding achieving amenorrhea, avoidance cycle-dependent gynecological, but also general diseases. In gynecological practice women are turning increasingly in flexible intake regimens. Study for the long-cycle are both known dosage possibilities of ethinyl estradiol (EE), the progestin choice as well as to the different application forms. Since 2014 is related to the estrogen-progestin combination (20 ?g EE/3 mg drospirenone) a first approved drug for flexible long-term use is available.
