Abstract
Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology in gynaecological surgery Paediatric and adolescent gynaecology (PAG) is a subspecialty
involving mainly gynaecologists and paediatricians
in diagnosis and treatment of symptoms and diseases of
genitalia and breast of female children and adolescents.
Hence specific knowledge about age-dependent maturation
process is most important for to distinguish between
normal range of development and pathologic criteria, and
small girls as adolescents are no »small adults«. Their genital
anatomy, their gynaecological problems and questions
are quite different to those of adult women.
The review about PAG is comprising specifically methods
of both examination towards differential diagnosis and
treatment of essential symptoms and diseases in all agegroups
of girls and adolescents. Recommendations about
contraception and the responsibility of physicians in cases
of suspected sexual abuse are concerned finally.
