First-trimester abortion

Despite the fact that Germany with 100,000 reported abortions per year has one of the lowest rates in Europe, abortion remains one of the most frequently conducted gynecological procedure.

Every woman should have access to all different methods of abortion. A non-directive information about indicators, special characteristics as well as advantages and disadvantages is essential and a prerequisite for an informed and independent decision about the most suitable method.

The recommendations for the operative and medicinal abortion in the first trimester are based on international standards and supplemented by clinical expertise. Given the fact that no abortion guidelines are existing in Germany, the goal is to ensure the necessary care of affected women with uniformly high quality, based on current scientific findings.
