Abstract
Down-Screening - NT-Messung und neue Methoden der Risikoabschätzung (Integrated- und Sequential-Test) Within the last 15 years a number of Down screening tests
such as the first trimester Combined Test, the second trimester Quadruple Test, and the Integrated Test have been
introduced. Screening using the first trimester Combined
Test techniques is now widely offered to women despite
the uncertainty about which screening method should be
used in practice. The Serum, Urine and Ultrasound Screening Study (SURUSS) and the First And Second Trimester
Evaluation of Risks (FASTER) study have recently addressed
the issue which of these different tests yields the best detection rate for the least number of invasive tests. The practical impacts of their results on Down Screening are discussed in this brief review. Holger Lebek, Charles Rodeck, Katrin Kalache, Karim D. Kalache
